Tell me what can come of all these words?
The funneling of millions of these dollars not reaching their intended “targets”. Arafat was a millionaire if not a billionaire from the amount of money he stole from his people. And they loved him nonetheless. Hamas is no better and dare I say worse than Arafat (though he appeared to have come around to peace after he got his slice of the pie).
Without proper handling, which has NEVER happened not even under the Marshall Plan, this money will do very little to help the people. When you want to eliminate fungibility, ie keeping money from going to weapons instead of food, this 400 million in Aid has to be in the form of food stuffs, medicine, etc. But then again this isn’t even perfect, because we have to be careful of Hamas grabbing the aid and trying to sell it at a horrible price to their constituents. Good argument against that, though is Hamas has been treating the people of Gaza with schools and medicine etc. Fair warning, when they get the opportunity to strike at the Zionist invaders they will, and they WILL use part of this aid to do so.
If the U.N. or Egypt doesn’t handle this aid, it will all go to waste. Foreign aid has, ninety percent of the time, failed at fulfilling it’s potential to the people.
